9th JUNE SHOW TIME

I look good and i feel good. Im wearing my new laced boots, silk top, and sparkly Michael Jackson jacket. Makes a change. Its a euphoric feeling of energy. Days before the show we had loaded everything in to the van which escorted all our collections to the Baker Street campus. Bearing in mind this location had screened some of the biggest designer catwalks for London Fashion week, Christopher Kane, Louise Goldin, Emma Cook, Todd Lynn and the list goes on...to be showcasing my work at the P3 space makes me feel privileged and honoured.
Backstage the atmosphere is immense. There's people shouting in to their headsets..hair and make-up on models like flies on shit and people running hurriedly for tit tape and rollers! You have to take it all in. Working in PR for so long it feels weird being the one on the other side, its my turn now, my turn to freak out why my models not here, or why my shoes have gone missing, why my dress wont do up before it goes down the runway.
For the run through my models not even here so i have one look not worn. This is bad!! Tres bad! If she turns up and cant fit in to my stuff we have problems. Im not going to lie. Im a complete cow. I scream at the team who've elected a big breasted model to wear my see through spider knit top. I mean what the fuck-im not making a porno this is a fashion show. Since when did models have big tits!! hello i need an aneroexic girl..right now gosh!! I have my way and im happy again. Dont make me bring the diva Lai out!
I dont even know what my music is. My anal design tutor is by far the hardest person to please...he's selected me and a few others, songs which we've not yet heard!! I forget whose show this was..is it not mine..why cant i have my song!?
The rows are looking dead professional, our magazine sits nicley on the front two rows equipped with a bottle of evian water and a running order. Didnt we do well. A spotlight projects University of Westminster on to a back wall which make you feel like your in Hollywood. Theres even refreshments backstage. Lesley Goring is our director and she is doing a fantabulous job. Thats the kind of job i dream of. Dominate, respected and in control LOL.
The queue spirals all the way round on to the main street. People wait patiently in the heat to be seated in the venue. The show is running fashionably late as usual. Theres the hustle and bustle backstage and a few tears are drawn as the panic and realisation kicks in. We all take our positions, and when the first song is played everything becomes a blur. It is by far the best adrenaline rush you could possibly imagine. You watch from a small screen as you witness your own creations strutting its stuff in front of the press, buyers and designers. This is such an achievement and the end to a new beginning.
