BRIGHTON FASHION WEEK

Being treated to a low budget lunch at Wimpys by one of my best friends by blackbezza starts buzzing and I get a flow of emails fly through. The opening line has me hooked to the extent I stop eating the toffee caramel icecream to read more.

Hi there,

We here at Brighton Fashion Week central would like to introduce ourselves, and make you aware of the openings for designers. We've picked our favourites and you're one of them!

BFW started as Brighton Frocks in 2004 which then morphed into Brighton Fashion Week in 2009, and it has gone from strength to strength and grown every year. This is the first year that BFW has gone international and we've got some great opportunities for designers to get international coverage. Our national and international press coverage from last year included The Daily Mirror, The Independent, and The Guardian as well as Vogue.com and 125 magazine and we're going for bigger and better this year!

It is Brighton fashion weeks´s innovative and unique style that is makes it so special. Giving new opportunities for designers, make-up artists, photographers, stylists and all talents to collaborate and enjoy the surrounding of the Brighton seaside area. I would like to thank the team for the high standards of work that has been done on this project, friendly atmosphere and must say this was one of the best events I have ever participated in.
- Nikolo Bertok, London - Couture Show - BFW 2010

Taking part in Brighton Fashion Week was a valuable and enjoyable experience. The Couture Show was really well produced and every detail was covered, music, graphics and styling. I gained recognition and press for my label and made lots of contacts in the industry. The team were  professional and a pleasure to work with.
- Rosalind Francis Holmes - Couture Show BFW 2010

It was a very rewarding experience for myself as a designer to meet and collaborate with such a wide spectrum of other people working in the fashion and associated industries within the local area. The night itself was an outstanding achievement for Liz and the team…. And was really exciting experience to be part of. The benefits to my fledging business have been real and ongoing….press coverage before and after the event immediately boosted my profile, and I’m still noting a significant traffic to my new website from Brighton Frocks related links. I think even more that the material advantages of taking part, the main thing I have taken away for my involvement in Brighton Frocks is a renewed inspiration and motivation to grow my business, together with a vastly increased network of very useful contacts.
- Joanne Fleming Design

We still have a few places left in the Couture and Brighton Frocks catwalk shows and we'd like to give you a chance to get your designs shown on an international stage.

If you'd like to take part, e-mail us (enquiries@brightonfashionweek.com) with your telephone number and we'll give you a call to explain all the details. Please see our press release below.

We hope to hear from you !

PA to Liz Bishop

I have since been in touch with Liz on numerous occasions and it seems I am on my way to having another catwalk show this summer. My aim is to produce 10-12 looks by June and for fittings to commence in May. This does not leave me with much time but I guess thats the best way in which I work in. Im going to be a dragon for the next few months as I know how stressful and exciting this is going to be. Having learnt so much in the past from my previous collection will allow me to make improvements the second time around.
